BANSHEE UAV Research Project is an interdisciplinary engineering team at Cal Poly Pomona, comprising aerospace, electrical & computer, and mechanical engineering students. Their focus is on developing an ultra-high endurance VTOL surveillance/payload delivery drone. The project aims to harness energy from the environment through solar power, enable induction wireless charging via power lines and ground charging stations, and replace weighty structural components with structural power generation/storage devices like wing spar batteries. The team's activities include designing, constructing, and testing various components of the drone, such as the airframe, batteries, communication systems, and power management hardware.
