In 1996, professional automotive engineers, mechanics and motor sports enthusiasts united and organized community outreach programs and created an educational program to train, prepare and inspire youth to pursue engineer/motorsports careers. The organization supports motorsports activities. Stay tuned for 2023 youth programs. Activities for youth have included workshops in collaboration with PDMC Motorsports of Oakland University, and numerous workshops and car display presentations held at private and public schools throughout the Metropolitan Detroit area. The Detroit-based organization has received Car Group Display Recognition Awards from the Detroit AutoRama, an annual hot rod/custom car show and competition held in Detroit's downtown conference center. In a short period of time, the NMA would host fundraisers and establish a nationally recognized Hall of Fame.
